Jon Lum, PA
Mr. Jon Lum is a 1986 graduate of the Trevecca Nazarene University Physician Assistant Program in Nashville, TN. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Mr. Lum is certified to practice medicine as a Physician Assistant in Connecticut and New York. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and of the Society of Physician Assistants in Rheumatology (SPAR).
Mr. Lum is on the Wyeth/Amgen Visiting Speakers’ Bureau. He speaks on a variety of rheumatology topics to both lay and professional groups.
Mr. Lum has experience in many different aspects of medicine, including newborn intensive care, pediatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine. At the Arthritis Center, Jon has over twelve years of experience in the field of rheumatology.
Arthritis Center PAs provide ongoing care of patients with various forms of arthritis, osteoporosis, or chronic pain. Arthritis Center PAs are skilled and experienced in performing rheumatologic procedures such as aspiration of joint effusions (fluid in joints due to inflammation), injections of steroids or other essential medications into joints, or injections for tendonitis or bursitis. Arthritis Center PAs are also skilled in the use of ultrasound for needle guidance, increasing the accuracy and efficacy of these procedures and in the use of ultrasound for diagnostic purposes, sometimes obviating the need for radiographic procedures. In keeping with the Arthritis Center’s commitment to medical education, the job description of Arthritis Center PAs also includes acting as preceptors for students in physician assistant graduate training.
